Whats Good?
So recently some friends of mine were talkin about Barak Obama & Hillary C. The subject of hip-hop came up as Barak was recently quoted saying he is currently listening to Jay-Z American Gangster but prefers Old School rather than new stuff. Hillary said her daughter had given her & Big Willy (Bill Clinton) 25 Hip Hop Albums to get acquainted with the music genre.
So the question of the week to you dear reader is simple. What are the 10 albums you would give somebody completely unaware of what hip hop is and why? I’m not talking about someone that’s American or taking into consideration their pre-disposition on the music. Let’s stretch it and say Aliens came to earth…they find a time capsule inside The Temple Of Hip Hop. What are the albums that you nominate to be in that capsule?
10 or as close to 10 as you can get
I encourage you to leave your nominations.

- Scarface - The Diary
- BDP – By All Means Necessary
- Outkast – Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik
- Nas – Stillmatic
- LL Cool J – Radio

Every album on my list makes sense and I challenge you to prove otherwise. Each artist/album represents a seprarate sound or vibe in the music genre. Each is necessary to tell the complete story. I find it regrettable that Rakim, Too Short,Run DMC, MC Lyte, Kane, and Eminem did not make the cut but their impact is either represented by an artist already listed or not large enough to show on the overview of hip hop (Bay Area Music for example).
